Comments on the paper “The phenomenon of ‘‘partial isobaric compression” of urea as a solute in tertiary butanol: Comparison with a similar effect in the (methanol + urea) system” by E.V. Ivanov, E.Yu. Lebedeva [J. Mol. Liq. 370 (2023) 121039-10]

•The regularities of the influence of temperature and pressure on the volume of the system are discussed.•The presence of negative isobaric expansion and negative isothermal compression in substances is analyzed.•The applicability of the term “partial isobaric compression” is considered. This work is a commentary on an article by Ivanov and Lebedeva that appeared in this journal. The name of the phenomenon of partial molar volume decrease with temperature increase formulated in the paper as “partial isobaric compression“ is incorrect.
