Zusammenfassung: | In the present work, solute–solvent interactions in the studied aqueous ternary mixture of ionic liquid 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide and amino acids (L-alanine and L-phenylalanine) were determined by using volumetric, acoustic, and spectroscopic properties data. These properties cover partial molar volume of transfer (ΔVϕ0) and partial molar isentropic compression of transfer (ΔKϕ, S0) which have been determined by using the limiting apparent molar volume (Vϕ0) and limiting apparent molar isentropic compression (Kϕ, s0) data respectively. The result shows that ΔVϕ0 are positive as well as negative for both ternary mixtures. The limiting apparent molar expansibilities (ϕE0) were obtained from the first derivative of limiting apparent molar volumes with respect to temperature. The values obtained show the structure making and breaking ability of alanine and phenylalanine. McMillan–Mayer theory is used for calculating the interaction parameter. In addition, FTIR spectroscopic study was also carried out for the ternary mixtures.
