Zusammenfassung: | The mobile mounting technique for nannofossil slides is an important tool for the tridimensional visualization of calcareous nannofossils, and its relevance is stressed in this study. In addition, a new adaptation for this methodology was tested using samples from Lower Cretaceous sediments, and several modifications are described. The modifications allow an extended storage period, while maintaining the characteristics of the mobile mounts through the isolation of the viscose medium from the air with the use of an optical adhesive. The nannofossil content was counted at different times, over an entire year and the variation coefficient obtained was less than 1.1%.
•A new adaptation of the mobile mounting technique for nannofossils is proposed.•The state of the art of the mobile mounting technique for nannofossils is presented.•The method allows extended storage of prepared slides, maintaining their properties.•The taxonomic importance of tridimensional visualization of nannofossils is highlighted. |
