Zusammenfassung: | Graphene encapsulated Co2GeO4 (CGO) nanoplates are investigated as a potential anode for sodium ion battery applications for the very first time. Herein, we design and synthesize nanoplates like Co2GeO4/graphene (CGO/G) composite to enable efficient sodium storage behavior while retaining the general advantages of nano structures. The complete wrapping of Co2GeO4 (CGO) nanoplates by graphene sheets is clearly evidenced from HRTEM analysis. Our exclusively designed architecture offers the required electronic web for the fast and facile diffusion of electrons and can effectively accommodate the volume changes of electroactive Co2GeO4 (CGO) materials during cycling. As a result, the as prepared Co2GeO4 (CGO) nanoplates with graphene wrapping shows acceptable specific capacity of 319 mAh g−1 at 100 mA g−1 current density after 100 cycles, stable cyclability 84% capacity retention is achieved after 100 cycles and delivers rate capability of 151 mAh g−1 at 1 A g−1.
