Zusammenfassung: | •Multiple swarm particles simulation algorithm (MSPSA) is based on classical swarm particle interactions extended to a scenario with more than one swarm.•MSPSA was applied to the simulation of the coffee berry borer proliferation in Colombia crops fields.•The mathematical analysis allows to establish the different behaviors that are incorporated in the algorithm.•A proposal is made to set up the algorithm considering real measurements of the behavior of the coffee borer.•The experimental results permit to observe that the proposed algorithm allows to represent different types of infestation in a coffee crop.
Swarm intelligence enables simulation and exploration of different phenomena. In this work, it is designed a multiple swarm particles simulation algorithm (MSPSA), based on classical swarm particle interactions extended to a scenario with more than one swarm. It explicitly presents a mathematical and statistical analysis of experimental results. This MSPSA was applied to the simulation of the coffee berry borer proliferation in Colombian crops fields, representing properly the insect behavior under different factors as it happens with the diversity of the Colombian regions and climatic events during the year. |
