Zusammenfassung: | Dental implant rehabilitation always poses a challenge to the dentist, especially when there is an important amount of loss of alveolar bone due to tooth loss. This oral presentation focuses on a specific case of immediate implant rehabilitation of the left maxillary lateral incisor using a digital implant surgical guide. This case report aims to show the important use of the digital implant surgical guide for immediate implant placement, highlighting the advantages of this procedure.
Immediate implant placement is currently considered an alternative procedure to delayed implant placement. Despite the drawbacks of this technique, it shows a high rate of success. Moreover, with perfect knowledge of the head and neck anatomy and by using and carefully examining and reading the CBCT sections, placing the implant has never been easier. In addition, use of digital implant surgical guide allows the dental surgeon to place the implant in a very specific pre-planned location and to one depth, in a very accurate and safe way and also guides each step of the drilling sequence through the openings, making the procedure seem more easy.
Immediate implant placement allows clinicians to reduce the number of surgical procedures and, combined with the digital implant surgical guide, results in shorter treatment times, which offers the dentist as well as the patient a safe, accurate, and comfortable surgery. |
