Zusammenfassung: | Zygomatico-maxillary fractures are the most frequent fractures of the middle face. Their functional and aesthetic repercussions pose a great challenge to the practitioner.
Their management is a challenge, which raises an altercation between the authors, between orthopedic and surgical indications, and the different surgical approaches.
We report a retrospective workup study of 262 cases of zygomaticomaxillary fractures, in 4 years, managed in our department to evaluate and compare the different postoperative results of these fractures treated by orthopedic reduction and/or by osteosynthesis.
•Zygomatico-maxillary fractures are the most frequent fractures of the middle face.•Their evaluation is a challenge, which raises a dilemma among the authors.•Management modalities were taken according to the bone displacement, and the functional and aesthetic complications.•Our paper aims to present our evolutionary data to compare orthopedic and surgical treatment. |
