Zusammenfassung:In this study, an ultrasensitive dual-mode assay was successfully developed for the detection of Campylobacter jejuni (C. jejuni). Based on circular dichroism and surface-enhanced Raman scattering generated from DNA-driven double-layer core-satellite gold nanostructures, the concentration of C. jejuni can be efficiently quantified in the ranges of 102-5 × 106 cfu⋅mL⁻1 and 102-107 cfu⋅mL⁻1, respectively. The detection limit (LOD) of the novel assay can be as low as 25 cfu⋅mL⁻1 and 15 cfu⋅mL⁻1, respectively. In addition, the selectivity experiment results indicate this assay has a high selectivity over other commonly encountered pathogens. The practicability of the novel assay was investigated by detecting the concentration of C. jejuni in spiked real food samples. The average recoveries range from 87.0% to 107.8%, revealing satisfactory application potential of the proposed assay. With the merits of high sensitivity and reliable detection, we believe that the proposed bimodal assay has a promising prospect in pathogenic bacteria detection.
