Zusammenfassung: | Natural and engineered bacteriophage demonstrates perspectives to remove biofilms and address bacterial persistence in the food processing and preservative conditions. This study reviewed recent advances of bacteriophage and derived strategies, with an emphasis on the potentials for this technique combating biofilms in the food industry. It highlighted bacteriophage engineering as effective approach to empower bacteriophage with expanded host specificity and high bactericidal efficacy. Multiple factors and advanced techniques are required to understand and improve bacteriophage actions when fighting against biofilm contamination and reinforce food safety. This research will promote bacteriophage as applications in combating bacterial biofilms and give insight into novel control strategies in the food industry. |
