Zusammenfassung: | Blockchain technology has garnered considerable attention as a potential strategy for combating counterfeiting. This paper presents a game-theoretic model to examine the interactions between a manufacturer and a non-deceptive counterfeiter within a market environment characterized by deceptive counterfeits. We investigate the influence of AI livestream spillover effects from non-deceptive counterfeits on the manufacturer’s adoption of blockchain technology. Interestingly, our findings suggest that the non-deceptive counterfeiter consistently benefits from the manufacturer’s implementation of blockchain technology. Furthermore, the AI livestream spillover effects can strengthen (weaken) the positive role of blockchain for the manufacturer (non-deceptive counterfeiter). That is, the increment in profits with blockchain adoption for the manufacturer (non-deceptive counterfeiter) will be augmented (reduced) with AI livestream spillover effects.
•We explore the impact of AI livestream on the adoption of blockchain.•The non-deceptive counterfeiter constantly benefits from blockchain technology.•The AI livestream strengthens the positive role of blockchain for the manufacturer. |
