Zusammenfassung: | Heterotopic ossification (HO) and arthrofibrosis are known complications after medial collateral ligament (MCL) reconstruction and other arthroscopic procedures. They can result in clinically significant symptoms such as pain, swelling, and ankylosis. Surgical removal of HO and adhesions may provide relief of symptoms, as well as increased knee range of motion. HO excision in the setting of MCL reconstruction is not well documented in the literature. This article describes the excision of femoral HO and arthroscopic lysis of adhesions after prior MCL reconstruction and concomitant multiple-ligament knee reconstruction. |
