A superhydrophobic coating was obtained via green electrodeposition in a deep eutectic solvent, followed by chemical modification with stearic acid. The coating provided an extraordinary superhydrophobic property that was confirmed by the water contact angle of ∼ 152°. The copper stearic acid was successfully assembled on the modified copper coating with a cluster-shaped micro-nano structure. Furthermore, the superhydrophobic coating exhibited a combination of good chemical and thermo stability. Corrosion test was carried out on bare copper, traditional copper coating and superhydrophobic coating in a 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. The superhydrophobic coating displayed superior corrosion resistance than unmodified coating and bare substrate. |
