Zusammenfassung:[Display omitted] •We prepared CuO and NiO doped BaTiO3 material by solid state reaction method.•Optical and magnetic properties of BaTiO3 with different concentration of CuO and NiO doping have been investigated.•Flake, sheets, hexagonal sheets and flake with porous structures morphology were observed for 0.01%, 0.03% CuO and NiO doped BaTiO3.•CuO and NiO doped samples exhibit the antiferromagnetic behavior. In this work, we present a top down approach method to synthesize the cupric oxide (CuO) and oxynickel (NiO) doped barium titanium trioxide (BaTiO3) material. The prepared doped BaTiO3 samples were tested with the powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy X-ray Dispersive (EDX), UV–visible spectra and Magnetization-Applied field (M-H) curves for finding their crystalline phase, particles topography, presence of chemical elements, optical band gap and magnetic nature. We detected an antiferromagnetism in the M-H curve for all the doped BaTiO3 samples.
