Zusammenfassung:In frequency-domain system identification, multisine waveforms are frequently used as an excitation signal. Supplying a low Crest Factor (CF) input signal to the actuator of the system is essential for measuring transfer functions with a high signal-to-noise ratio. In this paper, we present a method for achieving a lower CF compared to state-of-the-art methods. Our two-step method starts with Guillaume’s method, followed by solving a slack reformulation of the ∞-norm minimization problem for additional improvement. The proposed method is compared to the existing ones in terms of the achievable CF. The performance of the CF reduction methods has been analyzed using statistical methods.
