Zusammenfassung: | Most patients with myocardial infarction undergo emergent or urgent coronary interventions. This invasive approach in treating coronary vessels carries a potential risk of procedural complications. This might even be more true in acute cases that are treated at night or over weekends. The objective of this paper is (1) to evaluate the risk of complications in these patients and (2) identify possible risk factors. This paper contains the interim evaluation of the first 349 patients being treated interventionally in General Hospital Hagen, Germany. This population was divided into the non- and complication groups. The occurrence of complications was analyzed, together with routine clinical characteristics. Furthermore, the common risk scores were calculated. The main finding is that reduced ejection fraction of the left ventricle was associated with the presence of complications (OR, 0.944; 95% CI, 0.921 to 0.967;
