Zusammenfassung: | The associated dominant species of grain mold complex in sorghum playing major role in reducing market value. The isolated dominant species,
Cladosporium cladosporioides
causing typical leaf spot discolorations and grain mold symptoms in sorghum (genetype SRF-305) was subjected to microscopic examination and morphological assessment for growth and development through single cell culture on PDA media and molecular characterization was carried out using conserved ITS region amplification of 515 bp was retrived and t-BLAST-n analysis revealed that the sequence showed 99% query cover and 98.65% similarity with
C. cladosporioides
strain MEFC080 partial sequence (MK732117.1). The sequence was nomenclature as
C. cladosporioides
isolates NAU Gujarat ITS gene and deposited in the GenBank with the accession number MK949083.1. This study provides the molecular approach to identify the dominant species,
C. cladosporioides
associated with the grain mold symptoms in sorghum (genetype SRF-305) under south Gujarat region of India. |
