Zusammenfassung: | In this paper we apply autoethnography to reflect on our experiences as researchers when we come together with our colleagues at conferences. Our aim is to show how research and being a researcher involves more than what we usually report in scientific articles. We want to reflect on what it means to attend conferences and discuss one’s own research to demystify such gatherings and at the same time shed some light on the political potential of academic conferences. To do so, we report our own very personal experiences at the International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018. |
