Zusammenfassung: | Angiomyofibroblastoma (AMF) is a rare benign mesenchymal tumor of superficial soft tissues, in the vulovaginal region of middle-aged women. A 23-year-old female had swelling in the perineal region. Grossly, it was a gray pink, gelatinous tissue mass m/s 6.5 × 5 × 3.5 cm. Microscopy showed round to polygonal cells in reticular and focal perivascular pattern, myxoid change, interspersed blood vessels and variable collagenization. Immunohistochemistry showed positivity for ER, PR, SMA, desmin. MIB1 labeling index was 5–10%. AMF shares many features with aggressive angiomyxoma (AAM), which is an infiltrative tumor with tendency for local recurrence, and hence, it is important to differentiate these two lesions. |
