Zusammenfassung:Pursuing personalized medicine has spurred the development of drug delivery systems inspired by autologous materials, underscoring the transition from natural origins to medicinal applications. The allure of autologous biomaterials resides in their innate functionality, exceptional biocompatibility and adaptability, facilitating surface functionalization and encapsulation of therapeutics. Leveraging these attributes, autologous material-inspired drug delivery systems have the potential to mitigate drug immune rejection while concurrently enhancing therapeutic efficacy. This review encompasses the burgeoning landscape of targeted drug delivery utilizing engineered natural origin materials, spanning human-derived proteins to cell-based materials and extracellular matrix (ECM) scaffolds. By emphasizing the intrinsic attributes of these materials and strategies for drug loading, this review provides insights into the potential and challenges inherent in this field.
