Zusammenfassung: | Purpose of Review
Teleradiology is the transmission of diagnostic images from one location to another for the purpose of interpretation. The presence and impact of teleradiology have increased as the technology of computers, electronic picture archiving, and telecommunications have matured. In the context of the military, CT scanners are being deployed as close as possible to the point of injury, and the role of teleradiology has expanded.
Recent Findings
While the integration of teleradiology services into mature healthcare environments is almost transparent to the average clinician, there are significant requirements that may be unknown to the non-radiologist.
Summary
The role of teleradiology on the battlefield deserves particular attention from military planners and non-radiologist physicians involved in the resourcing and implementation of radiology services on the frontlines. |
