Zusammenfassung: | The present study deals with the characterization of biodiesel blends using gas chromatography, infrared spectroscopy, element analysis, physicochemical properties, thermal behavior, and combustion characteristics of biodiesel blends using thermogravimetric study (TG-DTG and TG-DSC techniques). IS 1448 standard and elemental analysis is followed to investigate the physicochemical properties and carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur, and oxygen percentage. The present biodiesel is sulfur-free which minimizes corrosion problems and helps to increase the life of the engine. The thermogravimetric study deals with the thermal behavior and combustion characteristics of blends. The lower concentration of biodiesel in the B20 blend provides a higher value of ignition index (3.4 × 10

to 9.96 × 10

) and comprehensive performance index (6.98 × 10

to 4.28 × 10

) which provides better ignition performance during combustion. |
