Multiple combination of conventional and nonconventional processes

Based on some applications it will be demonstrated that the technological results may deviate extremely from each other as a result of slight changes of the process parameters. The main example presented here is the electrical contact machining (Electrical Contact Discharge Machining -ECoDM) with a rotary disk electrode. This processing is the basis for showing how the individual process phases are controlled and how different applications can be derived from it. In this respect, the derived criteria are determined by the technological parameters determine, such as productivity, wear and working accuracy. The classical example of the WEDM in de-ionized water shows that the electrolytic dissolution effects are suppressed (AC source), in order to achieve a pure EDM (spark erosion).
