Zusammenfassung:3D printing as a tool for prototyping is already well established in many areas of biotechnology. Whether for the production of individual laboratory devices, for the development of biocompatible devices for cell cultivation or even lab-on-a-chip systems for miniaturization and reduction of consumables – the technology is now used by many research areas within biotechnology. However, there is one area where 3D printing is still comparatively underutilized: chromatography. Here, we explain the potential and possible applications of 3D printing for the development of miniaturized chromatography systems.
