Zusammenfassung: | Summary
A new species,
Myriopus gleissonii
(Heliotropiaceae), from the Department of Santander, Eastern Cordillera, Colombia, is described and illustrated here. Morphological analyses were carried out in the Seville Herbarium (SEV) of Seville University (US), Campus Reina Mercedes, Seville, Spain, based on an herbarium specimen incorporated into P. The new species can be morphologically recognised especially by its arboreal habit, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate leaf blade, tomentose on both surfaces, stigma obclavate split longitudinally with scale-shaped papillae, bearded, and fruits glabrous. A description is presented, as well as its habitat, flowering and fruiting data, comments on taxonomic affinities based on morphological features, and a map showing its known distribution. Based on the IUCN criteria,
M. gleissonii
is classified as Data Deficient (DD). A key to distinguish
M. gleissonii
from the other Colombian species of
Myriopus
is presented. Additionally,
M. mapirensis
(Lingelsh.) J.I.M.Melo is recorded for the first time for Colombia. |
