A new strategy for the suppression of cross-terms in pseudo Wigner–Ville distribution
The pseudo Wigner–Ville distribution (PWVD) provides an ideal auto-term concentration in the time–frequency domain. However, due to the bilinearity transform of the PWVD, the cross-terms are always distributed between the auto-terms for multiple-component signals. This paper takes the advantage of t...

Zusammenfassung: | The pseudo Wigner–Ville distribution (PWVD) provides an ideal auto-term concentration in the time–frequency domain. However, due to the bilinearity transform of the PWVD, the cross-terms are always distributed between the auto-terms for multiple-component signals. This paper takes the advantage of this regularity, combines the pseudo Wigner–Ville distribution with a scan and track algorithm, preserves the favorable properties of the PWVD, and removes the well-known cross-terms effects. The experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed method through some numerical examples with the frequency modulated signals. |
