Zusammenfassung:Zn-Ni-Cu and Zn-Ni-Cu-TiB 2 were coated on a mild steel substrate using an HVOF (high-velocity oxy-fuel) thermal spray process. The erosion tests were performed in a slurry pot tester following the ASTM–G75 standard. The impact of various slurry erosion parameters on the coating microstructure has been extensively investigated. A field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) was used to evaluate the erosion mechanism of both the coated and uncoated mild steel specimens. The results indicated that both Zn-Ni-Cu and Zn-Ni-Cu-TiB 2 coatings on mild steel were slurry erosion-resistant compared to uncoated mild steel.
