Zusammenfassung: | The various pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical methods that have been examined for processing ores from the Udokan deposit are not cost-effective. It is proposed that all oxidized and low-grade ores in the deposit be processed by heap leaching and that the high-grade, readily concentrated ores be processed by the traditional pyrometallurgical scheme. In addition to copper, this approach makes it possible to also produce the sulfuric acid and steam needed for heap leaching. The combination pyrometallurgical-hydrometallurgical technology provides for fuller use of the raw material and makes the production process as a whole more cost-effective. |
