Zusammenfassung:In this communication, we present the synthesis, structure and infrared spectroscopic and electronic transport properties for the 2:1 donor–acceptor complex o -Me 2 TTF– p DNB. The salt crystallizes in the triclinic space group P 1 ¯ with a  = 6.8447(8) Å, b  = 9.3297(11) Å, c  = 11.3312(13) Å, α  = 90.400(6)°, β  = 95.061(7)° and γ  = 109.055(8)°. Structural features of the constituent donor and acceptor molecules were compared to those from the free components and suggested that both existed in their neutral forms in the complex. This conclusion was further supported by infrared spectroscopic measurements which revealed a close approximation for selected vibrational frequencies from the o -Me 2 TTF donor and p DNB acceptor to those from their free (and neutral) components. Electronic transport measurements revealed the complex to be an insulator. Graphical Abstract Herein we present the structure and infrared spectroscopic and transport properties for the 2:1 donor–acceptor complex o -Me 2 TTF– p DNB which combines the TTF derivative o -Me 2 TTF ( o -Me 2 TTF =  o -3,4-dimethyltetrathiafulvalene) with the organic acceptor p DNB ( p DNB =  para -dinitrobenzene).
