Zusammenfassung:2-Naphthol and various aldehydes were used for the synthesis of 14-aryl- or 14-alkyl-14 H -di-benzo[ a,j ]xanthene in the presence of nano-SnCl 4 ∙SiO 2 under solvent-free condition. Nano-SnCl 4 ∙SiO 2 is an efficient, readily available, and reusable catalyst for this reaction resulting in good to excellent yields.
