Suppression of inter-pixel cross talk and reduction of recording spot size for high-density holographic memory

). The reconstruction quality was improved by the use of the orthogonal polarizer array applied for the signal beam, based on the reduction of inter-pixel cross talk. In the present study, we also employed a similar polarizer array for the detection of a reconstructed image. Simultaneously, some phase shift masks and various apertures restricting the recording spot were also applied for the holographic recording. As a result, we found that the areal density and reconstruction quality were improved significantly based on the suppression of inter-pixel cross talk and reduction of recording spot size. These findings can be used for the realization of practical high-density holographic memory. |
