Zusammenfassung: | Within an investigation on the geoarchaeological reconstruction of aeolian landscape development in Northern Germany, three different 3D visualization software products (Autodesk® 3ds Max®, Visual Nature Studiotm2.86, a3Dc) have been applied in order to visualize and, thus, communicate scientific results to the public and the scientific community alike. By using offline and online rendering systems, scientifically sound visualizations are presented on different geographical scales and with varying interactive functionalities. This bridging of geoarchaeological and geovisualization techniques will aid researchers and the broad public to gain a deeper insight into humaninduced changes of landscapes in the past. |
