Zusammenfassung:Federal air pollution control regulations having the greatest impact on the extractive metals industry are the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). Development of new source performance standards and national emission standards that affect the metals industry is discussed. The means of establishing effluent limitations as required by the Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972 is also discussed. Suggestions for cooperation between the metals industry and EPA are given. (JGB)
