Zusammenfassung:Two case reports are presented of patients who utilized long-term intermittent urethral catheterization as a primary management of diabetic neurogenic bladder. The results indicate fewer complications than with a continuous indwelling Foley catheter. Further, only two urinary tract infections occurred during 39 months of patients utilization. No renal or vesical lithiasis occurred. One patient had a remission and went on drug therapy alone. The other patient may use this technique indefinitely.
