Zusammenfassung: | The IgE- and non-IgE-mediated basophil histamine release (HR) may be influenced by different metabolic pathways in the basophils as well as by extracellular mediators. Products of the 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO) pathway of the arachidonic acid (AA) metabolism enhance human basophil HR. We have recently shown that inhibitors of 5-LO decrease and inhibitors of cyclooxygenase (CO) increase IgE-mediated HR. In the present study we have measured HR in cord blood and investigated the effect of drugs affecting AA metabolism. |
