Zusammenfassung:The authors investigate the effect of porosity on the hardness and magnetic properties of sintered carbon steel 30N2M after sintering and heat treatment with the purpose of using this dependence as a nondestructive quality control technique in the production line. They find a significant drop in coercive force and hardness with increasing porosity and attribute this to martensitic-pearlitic transformations within the structure. A reduction in thermal conductivity is also observed.
