Zusammenfassung: | The authors investigated the influence of the structure of the hydrophobic fragment on the protective effect of oil-soluble inhibitors of the acid and imide types. Data are presented on the protective properties of a film of AU oil containing straight-chain and branched acids with similar numbers of carbon atoms, in 3% NaCl. It can be seen that chain branching results in considerably poorer protective properties of the acid in the hydrocarbon medium. This means that correlation of the protective effect with the size of the hydrophobic fragment as the sole factor is not always justified. |
