Nonlinear effects of changes in polarization of radiation, propagating in a resonant medium from randomly oriented molecules

We consider the interaction of intense, elliptically polarized monochromatic radiation with a resonant medium, consisting of identical two-level systems with randomly spatially oriented dipole moments. Zusammenfassung:We consider the interaction of intense, elliptically polarized monochromatic radiation with a resonant medium, consisting of identical two-level systems with randomly spatially oriented dipole moments. An analytic expression is obtained for the bulk density of the field-induced macroscopic dipole moment of the medium. We investigate the propagation of an intense monochromatic elliptically polarized homogeneous plane wave. Estimates of nonlinear effects are provided, and conditions of determining them are determined.
