Zusammenfassung: | In a study of radiation-stimulated proton diffusion in single crystals of MgO containing hydroxyls, the hypothesis was advanced that radiation-stimulated aggregation of cationic vacancies occurs in addition to aggregation of protons. This paper shows that such processes take place only in MgO single crystals that contain hydroxyl groups, as demonstrated through thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL), EPR, electron absorption spectroscopy, and vibrational spectroscopy with MgO single crystals containing different amounts of impurities. |
