Zusammenfassung:Experimental data is presented on the bulk viscosity of soils under shock loadings with stress rates from quasistatic to 2x10/sup 10/ Pa/sec for loads up to 2x10/sup 8/ Pa. Data on the viscosity of certain soils (sands) are cited. A list of the results of shock dynamic compression tests performed on four types of soils loaded under conditions of a simple state of strain is presented.
