Zusammenfassung:A phase transition in KCl and RbCl was investigated under static conditions where all accessible methods of producing defects in crystals were used: multiple loadings, fine pulverization by precipitating deposits from the aqueous solution by organic fluids, and explosive action. A table shows that estimates of the half-heights of the hysteresis in the case of the rubidium salts are approximately equal to the magnitudes of the phase transitions themselves, which affords a foundation for assuming the realizability of conserving the high-pressure phase during loading of a strongly defective crystal. Neodymium monoxide is obtained under static conditions for 50 kbar and 1000 C. The author considers, in conclusion, the influence of defects on mechanical properties under shock-wave loading of solids in the polycrystalline and monolithic states.
