Zusammenfassung:The results from studies of the strength properties of catalyst coatings based on commercial iron/chromium oxide and copper/chromium/barium oxide catalysts, and also the platinized alumina catalyst AP-64 are summarized and correlated. A 30% solution of polymethylphenylsiloxane resin in toluene was used as an adhesive. The results obtained in tests of mechanical strength of catalyst coatings applied to steel plates and then calcined are presented. A correlation between the mechanical strength and the content of oxygen in the catalyst has been found. These catalyst coatings can be used in plate-type reactors for treating waste gases to remove organic substances.
