Zusammenfassung:The purpose of this work was to determine the frictional properties of 12Kh18N10T steel with boride coatings under conditions of operation of a friction assembly at high temperatures in vacuum. Since in boriding austenitic steels it is not possible to obtain diffusion layers strongly adhering to the base with a thickness of more than 8-10 /mu/m, the boriding was done after preliminary iron impregnation of the samples. The adhesive interaction of borided steel in contact with unprotected steel was investigated in a vacuum of 2.7 mPa at 700-1100/degree/C with a load of 30 MPa and a contact time of up to 4 h. It is concluded that boriding with preliminary iron diffusion of 12Kh18N10T steel makes it possible to obtain dense layers strongly adhering to the base and of significant thickness (up to 50 /mu/m), reducing the tendency of the steel to seizing at high temperatures in vacuum.
