What Can Really Be Deduced from Enthalpy of Immersional Wetting Experiments?

The determination of the thickness of the solid/liquid interface by immersional wetting calorimetry is not consistent with the thermodynamic equations describing this technique. Zusammenfassung:The determination of the thickness of the solid/liquid interface by immersional wetting calorimetry is not consistent with the thermodynamic equations describing this technique. In fact, the immersional wetting equation is simply another form of the famous Young equation. Consequently, this technique does not provide more information than contact angle experiments. This is a comparison of the two techniques which allows the comparison of enthalpic and entropic forces acting inside interfaces.
