Zusammenfassung:	Submicrometer-size carbon particles of uniform size were prepared by pyrolysis of fine polystyrene/polyacrylonitrile composite particles which were produced by emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization. Hollow carbon particles were formed from composite particles of more than 10 mol% polystyrene content. The size of the hollow increased with increasing polystyrene content.
