were isolated from samples starting from the educts Sr : SiO : C = 21 : 2 : 6 heated under argon atmosphere in corundum crucibles up to 1150 K. The air‐sensitive compound crystallizes in the cubic system, space group
$F d \: \overline{\mathit{3}} \: m, a$
= 1914,56(19) pm, Z = 8. In the crystal structure the Si, O and C atoms are coordinated only by Sr atoms forming distorted icosahedra around Si and distorted octahedra around O and C. The compound can be classified as an electron precise Zintl phase according to (Sr
