Zusammenfassung:The complex [Mg(1, 10‐phenanthroline)3(NO3)2]·9H2O has been synthesized. It forms crystals having the shape of sheaves with very thin filaments. The compound has been characterized by UV, IR, NMR and mass spectra. The UV and mass spectra are indicative of an electron density transfer from NO3— to Mg2+. On the base of the spectroscopic studies a model of the crystal structure has been proposed.
