Zusammenfassung:	Congenital cardiovascular malformations were produced in offspring of rats that received salicylates during the organogenetic period of gestation. The most frequent anomalies encountered were transposition of the aorta to the right ranging from “overriding of the aorta” to complete transposition. The doses necessary to produce such malformations in rats are compared with those used in human beings for therapeutic and suicidal purposes.
