Zusammenfassung: | To maximize the velocity and energy conversion efficiency of the synchronous induction coil launcher, the pre‐analysis of the armature interception effect(AIE) is conducted, and the dynamic mathematical model of the single‐stage coil launcher is established theoretically. According to the mathematical model and analysis, the AIE is an intrinsic characteristic of the synchronous induction coil launcher. The reduction of the magnetic field strength along the launching direction and the reduction of the driving coil current will generate a reverse of the armature current, which will cause the AIE. The launching performance of the system is affected as a result. To suppress the AIE, the coupling degree between the armature and the driving coil should be reduced when the armature current reverses. Despite the strong reversed current of the armature, the AIE can be restrained because of the small inductance gradient when the distance from the driving coil to the armature is long. According to the numerical simulations, the AIE can be effectively reduced by adjusting the parameters of the power supply and armature to match the parameters and structures of the driving coil and armature. An experiment is conducted, and according to the results comparison, the validity of the analysis is verified. © 2021 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. Published by Wiley Periodicals LLC. |
