Auger/LEED linear heating study of Sn and S bulk-to-surface diffusion in a Cu(111)(Sn, S) single crystal
The novel technique of linearly heating a sample to obtain both the pre‐exponential factor D0 and the activation energy E from a single run is applied to the Cu(111)(Sn, S) system. Using Auger electron spectroscopy the surface enrichment is measured as a function of time (temperature) and fitted wit...

Zusammenfassung: | The novel technique of linearly heating a sample to obtain both the pre‐exponential factor D0 and the activation energy E from a single run is applied to the Cu(111)(Sn, S) system. Using Auger electron spectroscopy the surface enrichment is measured as a function of time (temperature) and fitted with an integral expression containing the fit parameters D0 and E. The fit values at all heating rates agree excellently with published, our own experimental and conventional t1/2 values after temperature corrections. |
