Zusammenfassung:In this paper, we introduce a novel DPU (Display Processing Unit) architecture for various virtual reality devices (AR, VR, and MR). The proposed architecture can more accurate data transfer from the image Renderer (e.g., GPU) to display device, however can achieve less area cost than conventional. Experiment results show that the image quality is improved entirely, and especially in low brightness region which is very critical in virtual reality devices. In addition, 49.32% area cost saving could be confirmed than conventional method in latest AP product synthesis condition.
